New Pottery Studio in Myrtle Beach Welcomes Creative Minds Of All Kinds

As one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country, Myrtle Beach is constantly building on its flourishing economy and thriving arts and culture scene. Providing a variety of artistic mediums for the creative souls of our coast, The Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum invites you to experience their new Lineta Pritchard Pottery Studio in Myrtle Beach!

Since it’s opening in 1997, the Art Museum’s leaders have continued to enhance and grow the Museum in addition to influencing the area’s evolving arts scene. The Pottery Studio is an exciting new addition and is part of their mission to continue developing culture in our community. The Art Museum recently celebrated its 20th anniversary of offering Great Art and Great Experiences for residents and visitors alike.

All Experience Levels Welcome

Offering year-round classes of all levels, the 1,000 sqft facility has six pottery wheels, a hand-building area, glazing surface, cleaning station and a kiln room. Classes are small with one-on-one professional instruction to build on technical strengths and technique. Camps are also available for children 8-15. Save The Date: Summer Exhibit Features Local Surf Artist

This summer, the work of internationally renowned surf artist and Myrtle Beach native, Drew Brophy, will be on exhibit June 23rd – September 16th. Recognized around the world for his hand painted surfboards, Drew’s remarkable style and technique will be celebrated in this retrospective exhibition that honors 25 years of his work, including some of his earliest sketches.
